Dear Reader,
Now that the sun’s officially clocked in, I couldn’t help myself—I had to round up my favorite warm-weather staples: swimsuits, coverups, flip-flops, sun hats… the essentials (and a few indulgences) that make beach dressing feel intentional—maybe even a little glamorous.
There’s something quietly thrilling about beachwear. It’s one of the few times you can wear almost nothing and still look maximally chic.
I tend to keep my swimsuits simple—clean lines, neutral tones, timeless shapes. The only time I break my “minimalist suit” rule is when I stumble on something that feels like a wearable painting (see: this Agua by Agua Bendita top and bottom — so pretty).
When I want a playful touch, I let the accessories do the talking—maybe a bold pareo, a splashy hat, or a piece of jewelry that catches the light just so.
This moodboard is only a fraction of the pieces I love. Find more below!

SWIMWEAR
Classic One Pieces
Simple, flattering, and never tied to trends. Favorites right now:
Bondi Born Gwen one piece AND the Raya one piece (perfection)
Hunza G Crinkle Suits (easy, fits all, and surprisingly supportive)
Minimal Bikini Tops
Usually a neutral (white, largely) but with a fun texture or silhouette.
Else Boucle Hidden Underwire Bikini Top (a new favorite label with the real female figure in mind)
Faithful Sol Bikini (feminine by fabric)
Left on Friday Double scoop top (I own this — it feels like my sport bra met bikini top)
Marysia Antibes Bikini (the scalloped edges feel so special)
Lisa Marie Fernandez for a little more feminine flare
COVERUPS
Where I Have Fun
Coverups are a playground for prints, textures, and color. Current favorites:
Chan Lu Astrid sarong (a fabulous brown block print)
Agua by Agua Bendita Luna pareo (because green is a natural)
Toteme striped pareo (on sale!)
Johanna Ortiz Ayahuasca pareo (own it, love it.)
Linen Pieces
Simple, chic, and endlessly wearable:
J.Crew linen drawstring pants (a personal favorite—just this and a bikini top)
Garnet Hill linen slip dress (always classic)
SUN HATS
Shade, But Make It Chic
Never without a hat when the sun’s out. Favorites include:
Janessa Leoné Packable Straw Hats (I own the Teagan, Collette, Tinsley, and Felix)
Lorna Murray Foldable Hats (coastal nostalgia with a little sweetness)
Cuyana Wide Brim Panama (timeless and unfussy)
FLIP FLOPS (BUT POLISHED)
Because the feet deserve better too
Current go-tos:
Havaianas (can do no wrong)
Tkees Leather Flip Flops (clean, simple, easy)
MORE ACCESSORIES
The Finishing Touches
The right accessory doesn’t shout—it winks. Optional pieces that make even the simplest suit feel like a look.
Bags
Love my designer bags—but if it’s getting sandy, wet, or smudged with SPF, I opt for a budget-friendly alternatives.
Dragon Diffusion woven tote (good bang for buck)
A.L.C. woven tote (love the shape of this one)
LL Bean canvas tote, monogrammed of course (practical meets preppy)
Sunglasses
A little mystery goes a long way.
Ray-Ban Oval Classic (gold-rimmed nostalgia)
Saint Laurent metal oval sunglasses (personally partial to this style)
Saint Laurent oval tortoise (if you’re not into metal)
Madewell made an oval frame identical to The Row’s Ella
Statement Jewelry
Totally optional. Should you choose to spruce up your swim:
Sophie Buhai’s Vienna earrings for swimsuits and beyond
Dorsey’s new paracords will be a hit this summer
Ben-Amun shell necklace (this is the outfit)
Swimwear stays classic. Coverups get to play. Accessories do the rest.
Because the best beach days don’t need perfection—just a little intention and a good pair of flip-flops.
xx Megan
I’ll take one of each please!
YES! Now you have me dreaming of sunny days by the lake. Can. Not. Wait. Summer where are youuuu!?!
